Deleting your account

How to delete it

1. Open Brainzy and go to Settings (the gear icon on your profile).
2. Open My account.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. The app shows what will be deleted, then asks you to type DELETE to confirm.
5. If your account is linked to Apple or Google, you sign in once more so that nobody else can delete your account from an unattended phone.

The app only tells you “account deleted” once our server has confirmed that the account is really gone. If the network fails in the middle, nothing is announced and nothing is lost — you can simply try again.

What is deleted

Deleting your account removes, from our servers:

• your account itself and the link to Apple or Google;
• your profile: username, country, avatar color and profile photo;
• all your games: times, mistakes, hints, points, XP, level, grade, streaks and achievements;
• your results for the day and your place in every ranking — your name disappears from the leaderboards;
• your friends, on both sides of the link;
• your cloud save;
• your Coins balance and its history;
• your usage counters.

On your iPhone, the app also clears your progression, the day’s attempts, your cached Coins, the queue of results waiting to be sent and your photo, and cancels the daily reminders.

We keep no anonymized copy of your scores and no separate ranking history: once the account is gone, there is nothing left to show.

What is not deleted

• The “Remove Ads” purchase. It belongs to your Apple ID, not to your Brainzy account: we cannot delete it, and you can restore it later. Purchase history is kept by Apple.
• Your Apple or Google account. Deleting your Brainzy account never touches it. When you delete a Brainzy account that was linked with Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the link, so Brainzy disappears from your Apple ID settings.
• What is on your device. Which tutorials you have already seen is a setting of that installation, not of the account; it goes away when you delete the app.
• Emails you sent us. If you have written to us, the message stays in our mailbox until we clean it up.

Deleting is not signing out

Signing out closes the session on this iPhone. Your account, your progression, your friends and your rankings all stay as they are, and you find them again when you sign back in.

Deleting removes the account and everything attached to it, for good.

Deleting the app from your iPhone does neither: your account stays on our servers until you ask us to delete it.

If you cannot open the app any more

Write to hello@playbrainzy.com from the email address linked to your account, or tell us your Brainzy username. We will verify that the account is yours and delete it. We answer within one month, and usually much sooner.
