1.5

This release is mostly about comfort: I spent days hunting down everything that made the grids stutter. Tell me if you can feel it!

  • A much smoother app

The heart of this release. The grids have been reworked from the ground up: every cell reacts the instant you touch it, drags follow your finger without a stutter, and the end-of-game screen no longer hitches. On a recent iPhone, everything runs at the screen’s full refresh rate.

  • Binero: a new way to play

No more double tap. Pick 1 or 0 below the grid, then tap a cell to place the value, or tap it again to clear it. Drag your finger to place several at once. And when a move breaks a rule, the caption tells you which one.

  • Pixels: drag to clear

Start on a filled cell to clear every one you cross, or on a crossed cell to remove the crosses. And a grid finished by removing one colour too many is now properly validated.

  • Word searches in French

If your app is in French, so is the daily grid: same themes, French words. Each day announces its style — words forwards, backwards, diagonally or in every direction.

  • More XP, more stars

The daily challenge point tiers have been recalibrated on players’ real times: 5 points per game is within reach of half of you, and a 30 XP day becomes possible. In Story mode, Hard, Very hard and Expert levels give more time for three stars.

  • Keep your progress

If you have been playing without an account for a few days, Brainzy will offer once to link your progress to Apple or Google, so you can find it on any device. You can say later.

1.4

  • Stars by the clock

In Story mode, stars now depend on time alone: finishing earns one star, going faster earns two, then three. The times to beat are shown on every level and grow at the Hard, Very hard and Expert tiers.

  • Banners for your profile

From your profile, the palette opens a shop of 13 banners to buy with your Coins, from 250 to 2,500. The one you equip also shows on your profile for your friends. Switching afterwards is free.

  • Frames for your avatar

In the profile shop, the Frames tab offers 25 ornaments for your avatar, from 150 to 1,200 Coins. Four are free: they unlock in Story mode at levels 100, 250, 500 and 1,000. Your frame shows on your profile and in the leaderboards.

  • Notes in Sudoku

Turn on “Notes” to write small digits in a cell: the candidates, just like on paper. Placing a digit removes it from the notes around it, and your notes are kept if you leave the game.

  • Leaderboards of 100

Leaderboards now show 100 players per page, with your username in plain sight. Your position stays pinned at the bottom of the screen while it is out of view, and a tap takes you there.

  • Trickier word searches

In Story mode, word-search grids are now bigger and hide words written backwards, like in the daily challenge.

  • Sound in every game

Every game now has its own sound effects, recognisable with your eyes closed: placing, a completed line, a duplicate or a rejected word. The music runs for over three minutes before it loops, with two sections that answer each other.

  • Your friends’ Story level

A player’s profile now shows the Story level they have reached, next to their Valley.

  • An update reminder

When a new version is available, the app offers it once, at a good moment, and never interrupts you mid-game.

  • Fixes

Hints work again in Story mode, the game sound now pauses during ads, a dedicated icon for the overall leaderboard, better-spaced ads in Story mode, a few inappropriate words removed from The Word in English, the daily-circle home screen for everyone (the “Home style” setting is gone), and this “What’s new” sheet no longer disappears by itself.

1.3

  • Story mode, in seasons

A new tab: 1,000 levels per season, the games taking turns, three stars to earn each time and a chest every ten levels. Every season brings a new map and everyone restarts at level 1; past seasons stay on your shelf. Independent from the daily challenge.

  • Your Valley

Behind the Story, a landscape that grows with you: a tree per level, a lantern per perfect level, landmarks to discover at every stage, and new scenery every season. Your friends appear where they are on the map.

  • Continue after a miss

Lost a game? Pick it up where you left it for 40 Coins or an ad, up to twice per game per day. The Word gets a seventh and an eighth row.

  • Three games reworked

Queens: more distinct region colours and clearer crowns. Sudoku and Binero: a Reset button. Word Hunt: no more mistake limit, only the clock counts.

  • Livelier leaderboards

Each player’s streak shows on their row; the game count includes lost games; lost games appear under the ranking; and you can open any player’s profile to send a friend request.

  • The streak shield

Lost The Word? Watch an ad to protect your win streak: the day earns nothing, but the streak goes on. Free with REMOVE ADS.

  • A cooler phone

The app was using too much power while playing: that’s fixed, and your battery and temperature will feel it.

  • Your country and language stay yours

Signing out and back in used to reset the country to France and the language to French: that’s fixed.

1.2

Dear user, Thank you for your support and feedback, I hope you enjoy the game!

  • A new home screen

The six challenges now sit around the daily ring: play in any order, all on one screen. The old trail is still available in Settings.

  • Ads fixed

An ad could flash on screen for a split second and vanish: that’s fixed.

  • Double your Coins

After a successful game, watch a short ad to get the Coins you just earned a second time.

  • Offline mode

With REMOVE ADS, play anywhere, even on the subway: 7 days of grids are preloaded.

  • Your friend requests

A badge on the home screen tells you as soon as someone wants to be your friend.

  • Nicer grids

Word Hunt now uses the full width, and Queens and Pixels get a Reset button.

1.1

  • The Word, in French

The daily word now follows your app’s language.

  • Overall leaderboard

One day, all six games, every player.

  • Yesterday’s recap

Your points and rank from yesterday, on your first visit of the day.

  • Your friends’ profiles

Their level, streaks and records, one tap away.

  • A fresh look

New colours, clearer grids, and the rules recalled above the board.
