Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Brainzy, we process the following categories of information:

• Account identifiers — a technical account ID and the username you choose.
• Email address — only if you link your account to Apple or Google.
• Profile — the country you choose, your avatar color and, if you add one, your profile photo.
• Game data — your daily results: time, mistakes, hints used, points and XP, plus a cloud save of your progression.
• Friends — the list of Brainzy players you add as friends.
• Coins — your Coins balance and the history of Coins earned and spent.
• Usage statistics — daily counts of sessions, games played, ads shown, rewards granted and views of the Remove Ads offer.

Brainzy does not collect your precise or approximate location, your contacts from your address book, your device advertising identifier (IDFA) for its own purposes, or crash diagnostics.

How we use information

• To provide the service: create your account, save your progression, run the daily games, calculate points and XP, and show leaderboards (performance of our contract with you).
• To let you play with friends and compare results (performance of the contract).
• To manage Coins, Hints and your Remove Ads purchase (performance of the contract).
• To understand how Brainzy is used and to set a reasonable ad frequency, using aggregated daily statistics (our legitimate interest in improving Brainzy).
• To prevent cheating and abuse, and to keep Brainzy secure (legitimate interest).
• To show ads, including personalized ads only where you have given your consent (consent or legitimate interest, depending on the ad type and your region).

Account information

When you first open Brainzy, a guest account is created automatically, without email or password. You choose a username, which is visible to other players.

You can link your account to Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In to keep your progression across devices. In that case we receive from Apple or Google an account identifier and an email address (with Apple, this can be a private relay address). We never receive your Apple or Google password.

If you add a profile photo, it is uploaded to our storage so that other players can see it next to your username. You can remove it at any time from your profile.

Game data

For each daily game you finish, Brainzy sends our servers your time, mistakes, number of hints used and outcome. Points are calculated by our servers. Your username, country, avatar, times and ranks are visible to other players in the Friends and World leaderboards.

Some data stays on your device only: your settings, sound preferences and reminder time.

Advertising

Brainzy is free and may display ads, provided by [AD PARTNER — e.g. Google AdMob]. Ads are never shown during a game: interstitial ads may appear between games, and you can choose to watch an optional rewarded ad to receive Coins.

Personalized advertising is only used if you allow it. On iOS, Brainzy asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and, where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), through a consent form. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Without consent, you may still see non-personalized ads.

Our advertising partner processes data under its own privacy policy, which we will link here: [AD PARTNER PRIVACY POLICY URL].

You can remove ads permanently with the one-time Remove Ads in-app purchase.

Analytics

Brainzy does not use a third-party analytics SDK. We keep simple, first-party daily counters linked to your account (for example: sessions, games played, ads shown, rewards granted, views of the Remove Ads offer, Hints purchased) to understand how the app is used and keep ads at a reasonable level.

The playbrainzy.com website does not use cookies or tracking tools.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Brainzy can send you one daily reminder to play. These reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone: we do not collect a push token or the content of your notifications. You can turn them off in the app settings or in iOS Settings.

Payments

The Remove Ads purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. Apple lets the app know whether you own the purchase so that ads can be turned off; we also keep aggregated statistics about views of the offer.

Coins are an in-game currency earned by playing. They cannot be bought, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money.

Third-party services

We rely on a limited number of service providers, who process data on our behalf or under their own policies:

• Supabase — hosting of accounts, game results, leaderboards and profile photos. Servers located in [HOSTING REGION — e.g. European Union].
• Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple, notifications.
• Google — Google Sign-In, if you choose it.
• [AD PARTNER — e.g. Google AdMob] — advertising, when enabled.
• [WEBSITE HOSTING PROVIDER] — hosting of playbrainzy.com.

When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data retention

We keep your account data, game results and profile for as long as your account exists. Daily usage statistics are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD — e.g. 24 months] and then deleted or anonymized. When you delete your account, your data is deleted as described below.

Data deletion

You can delete your account at any time directly in the app: Settings › My account › Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, profile, profile photo, game results, friends, Coins and statistics from our servers. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to support@playbrainzy.com from the email linked to your account, or by giving us your username.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (in particular under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you have the right to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@playbrainzy.com. We answer within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

Children’s privacy

Brainzy is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age without parental consent (the age may be higher in your country — for example 15 in France for consent-based processing). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our database is restricted by account-level security rules, and session credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect.
